On the association Kunst am Moltkeplatz

The association Kunst am Moltkeplatz KaM assumed sponsorship of the sculptures at the Moltkeplatz Essen in 2007 / 2008. This collection of sculptures consists of works by the artists Heinz Breloh, Christa Feuerberg, Hannes Forster, Gloria Friedmann, Lutz FritschFriedrich Gräsel, Ansgar Nierhoff and Ulrich Rückriem. The aim is to preserve, promote and develop art in the public space at the Moltkeplatz and to raise public awareness by providing the population with information.

With the sponsorship agreements concluded, the association KaM - founded by residents of the "Moltkeviertel", the area around the Moltkeplatz - assumes the responsibility for care and maintenance of the sculptures. This provides a firm basis for the long-term preservation of the group of sculptures.

As from 2009/2010 KaM organises temporary exhibitions of the works of young artists. They will be given the opportunity to take part in the "junge Kunst am Moltkeplatz" project by exhibiting a recent work for a limited period in the beautiful green setting of the Moltkeplatz alongside the other sculptures permanently located there.

Here you can read more about KaM's activities.
